Eigenlijk hebben alle beautymerken wel nagellak in hun assortiment. Het ene merk heeft echter drie kleurtjes lak, terwijl het andere merk alleen maar nagellak verkoopt.

Van die vele merken nagellak zijn er drie uitgelicht die een groot aanbod hebben en hierdoor bekend zijn geworden.

OPI

Dit nagellakmerk is waarschijnlijk het meest bekende merk van de nagellakjes. Celebrities omarmen dit merken massaal. Af en toe gaan ze een samenwerking aan, zoals met zangeres Katy Perry. Het merk werd in 1989 opgericht. Sinds die tijd brengt OPI bijou keer per jaar een collectie van twaalf kleuren uit. Deze kleuren zijn gebaseerd op de modekleuren van dat prominence. Deze herfst is dat de Touring America-collectie. Elk seizoen komt er ook nog een themalijn uit. Dat kan een thema uit een film of een serie zijn. Zo kreeg de layer Alice in Wonderland van Disney een eigen lijn met lakjes die namen dragen als Mad As A Hatter. OPI wordt verkocht bij Sephora en Mooi parfumerie. Vaak verkopen nagelstudio's het merk ook. Ook op eBay vind je veel, maar let daar op echt en nep.
