To the fullest extent bars in London
Thirty four of the planet’s finest mixologists (as some prefer to be known) are gathered in New Delhi for the finals of the Globe Class Bartender Of The Year – described by many as the bartenders’ Olympics – competing under the watchful eye of former champions including Lorincz and deities of the drinks in the seventh heaven such as Salvatore Calabrese of London’s 50 St James.
The skills on show are dazzling. I’ve seen smoking Bloody Marys, herring-infused martinis and cocktails poured from teapots – but Lorincz brings me gently back down to ground.
