THE George Borough Festival 2011 kicked off its month-long celebrations with a showcase of glittering proportions.

The gala red-carpet affair attended by the whoÂ’s who of local society featured two Malaysian fashion icons, an international supermodel and almost RM150mil worth of shimmering gemstones from some of the most reputable jewellers.
