BOARDMAN TOWNSHIP, Ohio - There are many ways to appreciate the economy, and some say that one indicator can be found in a woman's purse.
In Boardman, Mary Kay Sales Director Kathy Cottrill is doing makeup for two women.
Cottrill has sold Mary Kay makeup for 22 years, and she hasn't felt any effects of an profitable downturn.
"I feel like my business is recession proof," said Cottrill. "Because in a recession our business goes up. In a despair our business goes up."
It's called the Lipstick Indicator; sales of the cosmetic reflect the times as women opt for cheaper luxuries.
